Dedicated project tabs keep your audio, video overlays, and textures in their own lanes, mirroring your existing drives as a clean, linked library. No alt-tabbing to Explorer, no guessing what a file looks or sounds like. You see your entire collection at a glance, pick what works, and pull it straight into your cut.
And when your drives need actual housekeeping, you can reorganize right on the fly, relocating files between directories in batches and purging what you'll never use again without ever touching a desktop window.
Storage & Organization
Link a folder, and WatchTower looks inside every folder nested inside it, no matter how many levels down. A sound library organized by vendor, pack, category, and file shows up exactly the same as a flat folder of five thousand WAVs sitting loose. You never reorganize anything to make it work, and you are not asked to trust some in-app catalog instead of your own drive.
Spot Mode & Waveform Slicing
Click and drag directly across any audio waveform to set In and Out slice points on the fly. The moment you release, WatchTower immediately auditions the sliced section in a continuous loop, with a dedicated playhead line moving strictly between marked boundaries. Import trimmed cues into your project bin or insert onto your timeline at CTI with a single keystroke.
Sound Design Workflow
Gliding your cursor over any sound effect plays it immediately through your audio device. Inspect dynamic volume peaks, risers, and impact transients in real time with interactive waveforms. Click anywhere along the waveform to scrub straight to the hit without waiting on pre-renders.
Project Ingestion & Setup
Click the import button at the bottom of the panel to instantly bring any selected asset into your active project bin. You can also drag and drop new root folders directly into WatchTower, or browse your system to link internal SSDs and external storage drives in seconds.
Display Flexibility
Switch instantly between a compact, high-density list view for technical audio libraries and a visual thumbnail grid for video overlays, textures, and graphic elements. Adjust card sizes and zoom levels dynamically to suit compact laptop screens or panoramic multi-monitor setups.
Smart Timeline Placement
Spot assets right where you need them without breaking your rhythm or re-arranging your edit. Hit Alt+Double-Click to spot any asset at playhead with Collision-Aware Track Allocation: in Premiere Pro, WatchTower scans from the bottom track up to find the first open gap or stacks onto a new track so your existing cuts are never split or overwritten. In After Effects, media lands right at your playhead.
